DEA&DP Ref No:14/2/1/2/B2/3/0015/16

Mr Stephaan Jordaan (t/a Stephaan Jordaan Boerdery, a sole proprietor) conducts farming operations on the Remainder of Portion 1 of the Farm Osplaats No. 134, De Doorns, located approximately 3.5km northeast of De Doorns town centre.

Between 2011 and 2013, Mr Jordaan cleared approximately 7 ha of virgin land to expand existing agricultural land for table grape cultivation without environmental authorisation. Mr Jordaan intends to rectify the unlawfully cleared vegetation and proposed to continue the agricultural expansion on the applicable property. As such, a further three areas on the Remainder of the Farm Osplaats No. 134 are proposed for agricultural expansion. Area 1 is approximately 2.3 ha, Area 2 is approximately 3.7 ha and Area 3 is approximately 3.7 ha.

As a result of the unlawful commencement of the aforementioned activities, an Application for Rectification of Unlawful Commencement of Listed Activities, has been initiated in terms of Section 24G of the NEMA.
