Heritage Western Cape Ref No.: HWC24051712EJV0517
Ywer Boerdery 1 (Pty) Ltd. (herein referred to as the “Applicant”) wishes to expand its agricultural enterprise by developing approximately 19.9 ha of agricultural areas on Farm 30/338 Klopperbosch. An initial screening area of approximately 23.3 ha was identified; however, after incorporating the constraints identified by specialists, the layout was refined to the environmentally preferred alternative of 19.9 ha.
The proposed project would include the clearance of indigenous vegetation for the purpose of planting vineyards, including internal access roads within the proposed development area. The proposed agricultural expansion areas would be irrigated from the property’s existing lawful water allocation and would not require an application for additional water.
Holland & Associates Environmental Consultants has been appointed by the Applicant to undertake the requisite Basic Assessment process for the proposed project in accordance with the NEMA (Act No. 107 of 1998) EIA Regulations (2014), as amended.
The Draft Basic Assessment Report has been made available to the public for review for a 30-day comment period and is downloadable via the link below. Registered Interested & Affected Parties (I&APs) have 30 days, i.e. until 15 April 2026, to submit comments related to the proposed project and Draft Basic Assessment Report. Any comments received from I&APs will be collated and responded to in a Comments and Response Report CRR(2), and will be included in the final BAR that will be submitted to DEA&DP for decision making.
